Darlene Alma Stueber, age 72, of Mankato died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, Tuesday at Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour before service at church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Darlene was born March 26, 1938 to Walter and Alma (Zimmerman) Milbrett in Milford Township, Brown County, MN. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1956. Darlene married Ervin Stueber on August 4, 1958 at the parish house in Searles, MN. She had been employed by Paper Box, Woolworth's for 19 years, Stoney's Restaurant, Bakers Square, and Kwik Trip. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxilary Post 510. Darlene enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, polka dancing, flowers, and cooking and baking for family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Ervin; three children, Mike (Shannon) Stueber, Lori (Russell) Winchester, and Shari (John) Wilmes; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (June) Milbrett and Robert Milbrett; sister-in-law, Virginia Milbrett; Jeanne Milbrett; many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emil Milbrett.
